LoveSnaps: A Mom’s Beginner Photography Workshop from Judy Jakusz Photography
Can you say yes to any of these statements?
I have great new camera and want to figure out what all those letters and numbers mean.
I want to take better pictures of my kids, nieces and nephews, grandkids or just want to take better pictures of people period!
I dread every time I have to get my kids to cooperate when I take their pictures.
I want to know what to do with all these pictures I’ve got stored on my camera.
If you answered YES to any of these, then LoveSnaps is a workshop designed for YOU!
LoveSnaps is a workshop that will help you understand photography basics so you can use that great camera you received for Christmas, or your birthday. Or the camera you just purchased because you now have a baby. or your family is growing and it’s time to move up to a better DSLR! You’ll learn how to take better photos in your home or outdoors, how to look for the best light, and learn a few tips along the way to get more creative with your pictures.
As a professional photographer, I know that for most people a family or child photography session is an indulgence. For many, it’s a once a year opportunity to mark the milestone of another year passed. In between, it’s up to you as a mom to fill in all the photo milestones in between. There are so many moments every day of your child’s life that deserve to be captured. Memories of first teeth, favorite toys and first steps, family vacations and the first day of school all deserve to live in photos that are taken well (or at least in well-lit ones so you can see the moment!) This is why as a photography professional, and as a mom, I want to help you learn to do those things. Taking a good basic photo for your family isn’t rocket science and it’s something you can learn to achieve and enjoy.
I love it when friends and clients share their family pictures with me, and would love to see everyone with better photos to share on their personal Facebook pages and blogs too!
So say bye-bye to cut off heads, poorly lit, blurry and unusable images! It’s time to invest in yourself for a few hours and get a jumpstart on taking better photos before the school year is over and vacation season starts!
Who is this workshop for?
Moms of all sorts, grandmas, aunts, nieces, sisters, cousins. Any woman at all. Sorry guys, this class is for women only, and is designed for women to feel good asking any sort of photography questions in a comfortable and supportive woman’s environment.
You don’t have to be a mom to attend, but just be aware the workshop will focus on moms that want to take better photos of their children.
You don’t need to own a DSLR camera to attend, but we will talk about settings that may or may not be found on your camera. Be sure to bring along your camera and the manual too. If you can’t find it, you should be able to download it on-line from the manufacturer.
Who this workshop IS NOT for:
Anyone who already knows all these basics and uses their camera well, persons who have studied photography, or those who consistently take good photos that they’re happy with. You already know what you’re doing, and are probably doing it well, so carry on!
Anyone who wants to begin a photography business of their own. If you’re interested in all of the ins and outs of running a business and getting it started, I have a business workshop that’s more suited for you. We won’t be covering any business basics in this workshop, just plain and simple photo talk for moms who want to take better photos of their kids.
What will be covered?
Basic camera knowledge; including learning your camera’s setting functions and how to adjust them. That’s why you’ll need your camera manual!
Technical terms such as ISO, Aperture and Shutter Speed; what they mean and how knowing their adjustment helps you take better photos.
Choosing the best lens for the type of photos you want to take.
Composition basics and how to achieve them
Finding the best light in all sorts of situations
Photo storage and back-up options
